Do you want to know where your car is right now and have full access to its trip history? The eQuGPS monitoring system provides you with these capabilities in a convenient mobile application.
In this instruction, we will explain step by step how to properly install the device, register in the system, add a tracker, and conveniently set up payment for services.
What is needed to start monitoring?
Before you start, make sure you have:
GPS tracker or GPS beacon (e.g. eQuGPS Track with operating voltage 9–24 VDC).
SIM card with active mobile Internet (GPRS) and SMS (you can use the one provided by eQuGPS or your own).
eQuGPS mobile application (available for Android and iOS) or access to the web cabinet on a PC.
Step 1. Correct installation of the GPS tracker in the car
The accuracy of the device depends on correct installation. If you install an onboard tracker, follow three golden rules :
Concealed installation and constant power: Connect the device regardless of the ignition key position. This is critical for safety and protection against intentional disconnection.
Avoid obstacles: Do not cover the device with metal parts on top - metal significantly impairs the reception of GPS and GSM signals.
Temperature conditions: Do not install the tracker near areas of strong heat, engines, or powerful electrical equipment.
Tip from eQuGPS experts: We strongly recommend registering and activating the device in the app before the electrician starts installing it . This way the tracker will find the network much faster and the connection process will be completely seamless.
Step 2. Registration in the eQuGPS application
Download the application to your smartphone and follow a few simple steps:
Click the "Register" button in the lower left corner of the screen.
The system will ask if you have a device:
Select "Yes, I have" if you already have the tracker.
Select "No, not available" if you plan to purchase/add it later.
Fill out the short form: enter your first name, last name, email, and contact number.
If you chose the option with an existing device, be sure to specify its IMEI (indicated on the case or box) and agree to the terms of use.
After that, check your email - an email with your login and password has already been sent there. Return to the application and log in. Your device will immediately appear on the map!
(If you did not add the device during registration, open “Menu” ➔ “Devices” ➔ “Add”, enter the IMEI and come up with a name for the car).
Step 3. Communication and SIM card settings
The tracker needs an internet connection to transmit data. You have two options:
Option A: eQuGPS branded SIM card (Recommended)
Our tracker comes with a ready-to-use SIM card.
Cost: only 80 UAH per month.
How to activate: Simply check the appropriate box during registration. The request will automatically go to the operator, and the connection will be up and running in 20-30 minutes.
Option B: Your own SIM card
If you want to use your own card, do not check the box when registering (our card will be blocked). Before installing your own SIM, make sure that:
PIN code request is disabled.
Active communication services, SMS and GPRS (internet).
APN is configured (for most Ukrainian operators, the standard word
internetis used).Important: When replacing the SIM card, the device must be turned off!
Step 4. How does payment for services work?
We have made the payment process as convenient as possible. You don't need to look for details or pay anything instantly after registration!
Work on credit: Immediately after registration, your device turns on and works on credit until the end of the current month.
Personal account: It is assigned systematically every day at 7:00 PM. (If you registered later, the account will appear in your account the next evening).
Billing period: The system charges on the 20th of each month. In the "My Account" section, you will see the current balance and the amount due. Your first payment will cover the previous period and pay for the next month.
How to pay? The most convenient way is directly in the application via the LiqPay system (confirmation in your banking application, for example, Privat24, may be required). Payment by QR code or bank details are also available. You can change the amount and set aside funds for several months in advance - they will be debited automatically.
Step 5. Diagnostics: How to check if the tracker is "Online"?
For the eQuGPS Track model, it is convenient to navigate using the light indicators on the case:
Red - there is power.
Yellow — GPS operation (blinking — searching, on — satellites found).
Blue — GSM/data transfer (successful connection to the server).
Usually the first coordinates appear in 1–2 minutes in open terrain.
What to do if the device is "Offline"?
No GPS: Go out into the open, make sure the tracker is not covered with metal.
No GSM: Check network coverage and SIM card balance. To quickly check your SIM, call its number - there should be at least one long beep.
Settings: If you are using your SIM, check the settings. Server:
www.trace.equgps.com, Port:5002, APN:internet.
(By the way, the eQuGPS system supports work with trackers from other manufacturers. The main thing is to know the protocol, server, port, and APN of your device).
Step 6. Maximum benefit: what to enable right away?
To make the monitoring system work 100%, immediately after connecting, configure the following in the application:
Geofences: Get notified when your car enters or leaves a defined area (e.g., "Home" or "Office").
Event Notifications: Monitor overspeed or power outages.
Reports: Analyze routes, mileage, and parking time for any period.
Engine lock: If your tracker and installation support it, you can silence the car directly from your smartphone.
